Naples is the capital of the Campania region, and is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cites in the world. It’s not a tourist trap, but instead has many historic sites and fabulous restaurants that make it a desirable Italian destination. As Naples is a large city, the wise visitor will join our walking and dining tour to make the most of his day here. Join us for a jaunt through the city, stopping at noteworthy sites and tucked away restaurants and delis that offer authentic fare.

Eggplant Parmigiana and zucchini flowers, spaghetti, pizza, Babà and Sfogliatelle top the list of tasty treats waiting for you to sample. We’ll eat and then walk to places like Spaccanapoli, historic Naples’ main street, and the Piazza del Gesù. We’ll visit the religious complex of Santa Chiara and the Piazza Bellini. Here we’ll try Pizza Margherita, named for Queen Margherita, who visited the city in 1889 with her husband, King Umberto I.

The Naples Food Tour includes the Conservatory of San Pietro a Maiella, Piazza San Gaetano and the Basilicas of Saint Paul and Saint Lawrence. We’ll walk the colorful streets of San Gregorio Armeno, and peek into the artist’s shops known for their Nativity figures. We’ll continue on San Biagio dei Librai to sample more local cuisine including Baccalà, Fiarielli, soups, Ragù and Aglianico wine.

Next are the monuments of the Piazza Plebiscito, Naples’ finest square. Here are the world-renowned San Carlo Theatre, Galleria Umberto and Royal Palace. Surrounding the square are places to sample coffee, cake and liqueurs.
