What better way to experience Capri then through the eyes of a Local!

Join our Italian Born-English Speaking tour guide through the culture, history and lifestyle of this famous Italian island.

The day begins at your hotel where our guide will conveniently lead you to the ferry to Capri’s main port: Marina Grande. From here we begin our first experience with the famous Grotta Azzura or Blue Grotto.

With our tours you will skip the lines and be the first of the day to enjoy this famous attraction. Please note this is a weather permitting event due to the small boats we take inside this landmark!

Our next stop will lead us to Anacapri. Take advantage of the views on Mount Solaro chairlift. Being 589 meters above sea level gives you the perfect photo opportunity of the Amalfi Coast and Mt. Vesuvius.

While you are visiting this part of the island you will have time to enjoy traditional Campania cuisine such as Caprese Salad or Spaghetti with Clams and Mussels! Also be sure to stop by one of the local shoemaker stores for custom sandals.

Lovers of art and history will also visit Villa San Michele. We then return back to to the main Piazzetta or Piazza Umberto just as we arrived via private convertible car or bus. This is a great time to look for the shopping of the rich and famous! Take in the beautiful people, shops, art and cafe’s as we make our way towards the Gardens of Augustus. Also look out for the home of Capri’s own perfume: Carthusia.

Our last stop, the Gardens of Augustus offer a fantastic and unforgettable view of Faraglioni rocks as well as Marina Piccola. This “smaller” beach area is home to the famous actress Sophia Loren. Our trip comes to an end as we ride the funicular railway back to Marina Grande.

Take in an evening view of the beautiful waters and lemon groves of Capri.

If you are on a cruise liner and want to visit Capri (or anywhere else in that vicinity) I can highly recommend Tours of Capri. Our party of 4 got off the ship the moment it docked and Michael was there waiting for us. We liked him immediately as he was friendly, efficient and had a great sense of humour and in no time we were on the ferry to Capri and the start of a great day. Unexpectedly, it starting pouring with rain as we arrived, which was cause for concern as all the vehicles are open. As Tours of Capri is a local tour company which has been operating for many years, they know everyone, and so a quick phone call later, had us winding up the legendary Mama Mia road to Anacapri in the only covered vehicle on the island! We had hoped to go to the Blue Grotto on arrival but due to weather conditions that was out of the question. Anacapri is gorgeous and filled with tempting shops but luckily Michael kept us focused and hurried us along to the amazing view sites first so we could enjoy the view and take photos before it got over run with all the big tour groups. We had planned to go on the chairlift but decided against it as the rain was still threatening. Instead Michael showed us other interesting sites and then back in the car for another hazardous drive to lunch but having lunch at da Gelsomina alla Migliara was worth every hairpin bend! The restaurant is a haven of tranquility set in the most beautiful grounds with awesome cliff edge viewing sites. Everything served in the restaurant is from their farm including the wine and needless to say it was all delicious. After lunch we had free time to wander around the town of Capri before catching the cable car back to the main pier and the return ferry to Naples. We all agree it was the most perfect day and the best possible way to tour not to mention far cheaper than doing the cruise tours! In addition Michael mentioned that if Capri had been rained out completely he would have suggested taking us to Serrento for the day so they are very flexible. We also appreciated the fact that he was always mindful of our needs and very accommodating. Our very best wishes to Michael and Tours of Capri, thanks for the happy memories and all good wishes for the future.

Having read previous reviews on Tripadvisor we booked Tours of Capri instead of the Royal Caribbean excursion and specifically asked for Luigi. We were a party of six including two teenage girls. Our expectations of the day were high but the tour delivered so much more...! From the moment we met Luigi we had an amazing day and the trip was our favourite excursion of the whole cruise. As previous reviewers have said we visited the Blue Grotto (a great experience and good fun - but take something waterproof with you to wear or at least lie on. You really do have to get very low down in the boat). The chairlift was peaceful and took approx 15 minutes but our favourite part was lunch at the top of the island. Luigi had given us various options on where to eat with different price ranges but we chose the restaurant at the very top of the island. The food and the views were stunning - so much better than anything we would have experienced without Luigi acting as our tour guide. After lunch we had a little free time in the town looking in the designer shops etc and then we met up with Luigi again, walked though the Garden of Augustus and took the funicular railway back down to the marina. Luigi was so friendly and everyone on the island seemed to know him...! He was very informative but as he had a really 'English' sense of humour the whole day was just so enjoyable. We felt like VIPs as we didn't have to wait in queues for tickets etc. We have such special memories of the whole day and I can't recommend Tours of Capri highly enough. We are so pleased we chose to book this personal tour instead of one of the larger group excursions. 10 out of 10 Tours of Capri and especially thank you Luigi.

We booked an all day tour with Umberto of Tours of Capri. He was waiting with enthusiam when we disembarked from our ship. Everything went beautifully, with Umberto singing Italian songs to us much of the day. He was both entertaining and engaging, making it really enjoyable. I have visited these destinations (Ravello, Amalphi and Positano) in the past, however, this was the most pleasant. He even related to the children, including them in the fun.

Instead of dragging our 6 year old in heat of August on a 9 hour tour offered by our cruise line, we choose Tours of Capri with Michele. He met us at our cruise ship and was a wonderful tour guide. He knew everyone on the Island and was really good with our son. We beat all the crowds on boats to the Blue Grotto. The Mama Mia road was a bit scary but amazing views and the 6 year old thought it was a roller coaster so he loved it. We went up the chair lift for more amazing views and again the 6 year old sitting on my lap during the lift thought it was funny to see supplies going up an down on empty chairs. The things that entertain children. At the top we took lots of pictures and had some ice cream. For those of you with children, there are plenty of clean bathrooms and opportunities to get snacks during the whole tour. We also had an ATM available to us during the tour. After the chairlift we went to the "Farm" for lunch. The food was incredible, the wine was amazing and there is a pool there if the kids need a quick dip to cool off. It started to rain at that point so we passed on the pool and called it a day. There is more to the tour but that was plenty if you're dragging young kids with you. I would recommend this tour to everyone cruising to Naples. Especially families with young children as the tour can be adjusted to meet your needs which can't be done on tours provided by the ship. Thank you Michele! We will be back.

Our party of 3 (2 adults, teen-age daughter were greeted promptly by our very friendly guide, Anna Marie, upon arrival at the Port of Naples, Italy, aboard the Celebrity Reflection cruise ship. She escorted us on to the 8:30 am Hydrofoil for a 45-minute journey to the island of Capri. As we entered the Grand Marina, we were impressed by the beauty of the sheer cliffs all around us. Anna Marie took us to the waiting private convertible car (had a shade for cover), introducing us to the driver (sorry, don't recall his name). The roads in Capri are winding and extremely narrow (at many points only allowing one vehicle to cross). Our driver was incredibly skillful in navigating these roads with finesse, while talking with Anna Marie or on his cell phone (which would be a no-no back here in the United States). His thrilling, safe, expert driving added to the enjoyment of the tour (by the way, no laws were broken). Our destinations were (in order): the Blue Grotto (wonderful cave entered by row boat, complete with singing oarsman pretending like it's Venice (also making it obvious that he expected a tip!); an unforgettable, relaxing 15-minute chairlift ride from Anacapri to the top of Mount Solaro, which offered spectacular, dream-like, awesome views of Capri (felt like lingering all day up there); the Phoenician Steps, aka Scala Fenicia (very steep steps (be very careful!) with terrific views of the Grand Marina); lunch at the Le Arcate Restaurant in Anacapri; a very interesting walking tour of the town of Capri; the beautiful Gardens of Augustus (nearby is an incredible view of the famous Faraglioni Rocks) and lastly, the Funicular ride from the town of Capri back down to the Grand Marina, where Anna Marie waited patiently for us to board the Hydrofoil for the trip back to Naples. Throughout the tour, Anna Marie skillfully and clearly talked about the places we were seeing. She lives on the island and it is quite apparent she is very enthusiastic in showing us around. I will always remember how she always wanted to take photos of us without even having us to ask her. As a result, we have many personalized photos of Capri (more than any other place). We wish to thank Anna Marie (and the driver) for an outstanding and unforgettable tour of Capri. We felt sad to leave and vowed to return someday. I highly recommend this tour! (during our vacation planning we choosing between a tour of Pompei or Capri, and we elected to go with Capri, since we have seen so many ruins already; we're so happy we chose Capri!)
